National Children's Alliance - Accredited Member

The Northern Kentucky Children’s Advocacy Center is an accredited member of National Children’s Alliance. Children’s Advocacy Centers (CACs) are a national model for the multidisciplinary, collaborative response when there is a concern for abuse. CACs bring together social services, law enforcement, prosecutors, and medical and mental health professionals to provide a coordinated, comprehensive response for victims and their caregivers. As an accredited CAC by the National Children’s Alliance, the Northern Kentucky Children’s Advocacy Center has demonstrated adherence to standards designed to improve the community’s response to allegations of child abuse.

Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services - Designated Regional Children's Advocacy Center

The Northern Kentucky Children’s Advocacy Center is the designated regional Children’s Advocacy Center by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. As the designated Children’s Advocacy Center for Northern Kentucky, NKYCAC is required to provide the following services according to:

KRS 620.020(4) “Children’s advocacy center” means an agency that advocates on the behalf of child alleged to have been abused; that assists in the coordination of the investigation of child abuse by providing a location for forensic interviews and medical examinations, and by promotind the coordination of services for children alleged to have been abused; and that provides, directly or by formalized agreements, services that include, but are not limited to, forensic interviews, medical examinations, mental health and related support services, court advocacy, consultation, training, and staffing of multidisciplinary teams.

 

The Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS) regulates most of the state’s human services and health care programs, including Medicaid, the Department for Community Based Services, and the Department for Public Health. Northern Kentucky Children’s Advocacy Center has been designated by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services as the regional Children’s Advocacy Center for the Northern Kentucky Area Development District.

Services provided by NKYCAC are supported in part by federal Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) funds awarded through the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Justice and Public Safety Cabinet by the U.S. Department of Justice. Children's Advocacy Centers of Kentucky - Full Member

The Children’s Advocacy Centers of Kentucky is the statewide coalition of CACs dedicated to helping every child impacted by abuse. CAC Kentucky connects local CACs and our partners with the tools, resources, and support needed to provide a comprehensive response to child abuse.
